A Embark on a guided listening session that tells the story of European jazz after World War II through rare and historical vinyl records. The history of European jazz is filled with beautiful, yet often overlooked music that deserves to be (re)discovered. After a brief overview of the prehistory of jazz in Europe, the lecture will alternate between a talk and the guided listening of audio extracts. Each record played comes with a story that illustrates one of the various themes discussed during the session. The event coincides with Brussels Jazz Weekend. On Friday and Saturday an open-air stage will be built on Place du Luxembourg to feature the best European jazz. Registrations on the day at the museum.
